Welcome to our New Year 2021-22

Hello, here is hoping that this year brings us closer to "Normal". We are in person but masks and social distancing protocols will make it difficult to roll into the Art Room. But, have no fear I will come to you!

Porch Stories - Vincent van Gogh (with interpretation) Season 2 Episode 3

6th grade portraits 2021

6th grade promotion inspiration -how will you be the positive change for the future?
How will you make a difference?

I will make a difference in the world by…

I will be the positive change in the world by…

I can make a difference in…

I can be…

I will try to be…

In the future I will….

I know I will…

Someday I will…

Because of COVID lockdown in 2019-20
we were unable to do 6th grade promotion portraits
I reached out those students to include them with
this year's 6th graders

How is the project created?
Inspired by the portrait work of Pop Daddy Andy Warhol
and Neo Pop/Graphic artist Shepard Fairey

I take a close up portrait of each student
Using photoshop Stamp filter I transfer the color image
into a high contrast BW image
The BW image is copied onto clear overhead transparencies.
These are mounted to neon paper and the students build a
colorful collage under the transparency.
The finishing touch is a one sentence, I will, I can,
I am statement, guided by the classroom teacher.
These are given to all the families at the promotion
